Hi everyone! Well 2017 is nearly over and I’m not sure where the last year went!
In keeping with tradition on my blog, I thought it would be nice to take a trip down memory lane and compile my top 10 favourite Instagram photos of 2017 to share with you.
2017 was a pretty busy year with some fun travel opportunities in Europe and abroad. Many of these photos also remind me of my best memories and experiences from the year. Without further ado, here are my top Instagram photos of 2017 in chronological order:
My Top 10 Favourite Instagram Photos of 2017
10. Canals of Amsterdam, the Netherlands
S and I visited Amsterdam in early January and met up with my friend Ashish from the US. We had a great 3 days touring the city, exploring museums, and eating amazing Dutch delicacies. I snapped this photo while strolling through the city on our delicious Hungry Birds food tour. Definitely one of my favourite trips of the year!
9. The Cliffs of Moher, Ireland
In mid-January, I visited Ireland for the first time. I met up with my Mom who was there for work and we went on a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher. We were extremely lucky with the weather on the day of our trip which made for breathtaking photos of the iconic cliffs. I love the brilliant green grass on the top of the cliffs.
8. The Trevi Fountain in Rome, Italy
S and I travelled to Rome during the February break. It was fantastic to travel to Rome during the low season as there were fewer crowds and lines to get in to various museums and attractions. We were lucky with the weather and had sunny days for much of our 4-day visit. One evening we stopped by the Trevi Fountain after dinner and got some amazing gelato nearby. Perfect Roman night!
7. Blooming Tulips in Würzburg, Germany
Our first spring in Würzburg was lovely – flowers in bloom, warm weather, and blue skies. I love this photo of the Main River and the Marienberg Fortress in the distance.
6. The Rubicon Marina on Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain
S and I travelled to the Canary Islands in the summer and we stayed on the island of Lanzarote. I immediately fell in love with the turquoise blue water at Marina Rubicon when we went to visit their weekly market.

5. The Würzburg Residence, Würzburg, Germany
The Würzburger Residenz is a South-German Baroque palace and one of the biggest landmarks in the city. I captured this photo one summer afternoon when attending the Hofgarten Wine Festival, an annual wine festival in the palace gardens.

4. Granville Island, Vancouver, Canada
This summer, we visited my family in Canada. One of the many places we went to see was Granville Island in the centre of Vancouver. We walked along the marina, ate spicy Thai food, and strolled through the Granville Island Public Market, a haven for foodies.

3. Sunset on Maui, Hawaii, USA
Our visit to Maui was probably our most exciting trip of the year. S had never been and immediately fell in love with the aloha spirit of the island. We drove the Road to Hana, visited a luau, took surf lessons, and ate our body weight in fish tacos, poke, and shave ice. All the ingredients for a legendary holiday!

2. Nyhavn in Copenhagen, Denmark
For the fall break, S and I planned a long weekend in Copenhagen, the hygge-capital and a city we’d always wanted to visit. We took it easy exploring the city at our own pace, trying out delicious restaurants and cafés, and visiting the major attractions, like colourful Nyhavn.
1. Würzburger Weihnachtsmarkt in Würzburg, Germany
Unlike previous years where S and I have visited 10+ Christmas markets during the Advent season, this year we only made it to four. In any case, they were just as charming and magical as always. We discovered a new Glühwein stand at the Würzburger Weihnachtsmarkt that serves their drinks in heart-shaped mugs – totally adorable! This Instagram post got a lot of feedback and comments – I think people were just as charmed by the mugs as I was!
